Mary Adams, MEd

Director

Mary Adams has been a vital part of the Ahwatukee Preschool team since 2014, initially serving as the co-creator and lead teacher before taking on the role of director in 2017. With a Master’s in Early Childhood Educational Leadership and over 11 years of experience in the field, Mary is dedicated to fostering play-based learning within a Christian environment. Her creativity, rooted in a Bachelor's degree in Visual Communications, also extends to community engagement and event planning to promote the school.

Known for her nurturing and imaginative approach to working with children, Mary actively identifies their unique qualities and helps build their confidence. Her leadership style involves introducing new and innovative ideas, occasionally causing some headaches for the staff but contributing to the overall success of Ahwatukee Preschool.

Leslie Franzmeier

Assistant Director and Music Teacher

Leslie has been a valued team member since 2005, demonstrating a deep commitment to her role. Her genuine love for working with children shines most brightly during her music classes. With a teaching style marked by charisma, energy, and dedication, Leslie has a remarkable ability to kindle the imaginative spirits of her students. Even the most reserved youngsters are inspired to embrace the joy of music under her guidance. In addition to her classroom responsibilities, Leslie plays a crucial role in the front office, where she contributes to creating a smooth and welcoming experience for families navigating their introduction to the school.

Outside of her school duties, Leslie serves as the Bells Director for Mountain View Lutheran Church, overseeing various age groups, from preschoolers in Chiming Cherubs to adults in the enchanting Bells of Praise. Armed with a degree in science and sociology, along with extensive music training, Leslie brings a multifaceted skill set to her role, making a positive impact on both the educational and musical experiences of those she serves.
